Two killed in Douglas County crash

Two people were killed in a head-on crash this morning in Douglas County.

Two people were killed in a head-on crash this morning in Douglas County.

In a news release, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said two vehicles collided at 1:50 a.m. at Wisconsin Highway 35 and Kunz Road.

Sheriff’s Office and Town of Summit Volunteer Fire Department personnel arrived to find the passenger of one vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle dead at the scene. The driver of the first vehicle was taken to Essentia Health in Duluth. The extent of that driver’s injuries was unknown.

Names of all parties are being withheld pending notification of relatives. The crash is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
