Greetings! My name is Susan Heskin and I would like to introduce myself to you as the new director of the Superior Public Library.
I have come to Superior after 17 years as the director of the Two Harbors Public Library. My first day was April 19, and I spent my first week getting acquainted with the building and the wonderful library staff. I am grateful to have spent a couple days with Janet Jennings before her retirement, and she very generously helped to orient me.
Janet will indeed be a hard act to follow, but I promise to do my best for our community library. Since I have a true passion for libraries and their services, I am eager to begin working with the library board and staff to ensure our library has the best services possible!
Other news: A reminder that the Friends annual book sale will be held 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Your support of the sale will determine how much the Friends can give the library for new materials. Last year it was $12,000. The Friends of the Library have been working tirelessly to prepare for this sale, and no doubt you will find some great treasures if you come. Thank you, Friends, for all your help.
