MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee police have 13-year-old boy in the case of a dog that was set on fire.
Police say the arrest was made late Saturday afternoon, and that no other information will be released until Monday.
The Humane Society of the United States on Friday offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for burning "Big Boy," a 2-year-old miniature pinscher. Police say "Big Boy" was beated with a stick, doused with gasoline then set on fire on April 9. His injuries were so severe he had to be put down.
The dog's owner, Clarissa Burnette, was distraught. She says her family got "Big Boy" two years ago for her kids. She says he failed to return after he was let out.
