Paulsen passed away last week after 11 years with “Radio Superior”, starting when the program debuted in 1999. In these three shows, he reprises his role as Mr. Toot, the television clown he played on WDSM/KBJR-TV in the 1960s and ‘70s.
Paulsen also played several other roles using different voices in episodes that will be showcased on Friday. Included are performances with Jack McKenna when both played dockworkers at the 1943 launching of victory ships with the Dionne Quintuplets and in Washburn at the Commercial Club picnic as “Chauncey the Bear Hunter”.
“Radio Superior” airs several shows every Friday at 5:30 p.m. on Wisconsin Public Radio station KUWS-FM.
