Lake Superior Marine Museum presents program on short wave radio
The Lake Superior Marine Museum Association and the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center present another in its February evening entertainment series programs, “Emergency Short Wave Radio.”

The program runs 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Canal Park Lodge, 250 Canal Park Drive in Duluth. Admission and parking are free.
Presenter Doug Nelson of Duluth is Grandma’s Marathon communications coordinator and 25 year amateur radio operator.
He shares information about Morse code, unique forms of digital communications and how short wave operators provide assistance to the National Weather Service and other federal agencies in time of need or emergencies.
The evening entertainment series is free and open to the general public. An opportunity to chat with the presenter follows the program.
