Senior Connections Loan Closet seeks medical items for Douglas County residents in need

The Senior Connections Loan Closet, located in the Senior Center at 1527 Tower Ave., needs your help.

The Loan Closet provides durable medical equipment to residents of Douglas County. This program provides the use of canes, wheel chairs, shower benches, commodes, and toilet seat risers to those who need them. If you are in need of such items, you may check them out, and keep them for as long as you need them. When you no longer need to use the items, just return them to the Loan Closet. There is no fee for using this equipment. The only requirement of the program is that you are a resident of Douglas County. The Loan Closet is open Monday through Friday from 2- 3 p.m.

Currently the Loan Closet is currently in need of wheelchairs, shower chairs, shower benches, commodes and walkers with seats. If you have any of the following items and would like to donate them to the Loan Closet, please give us a call at (715) 394-3611 and we can make sure that your items can be accepted. Also, when donating items, please make sure that the items are clean and in working order when you bring them in.

Also, if you have previously borrowed items through the Loan Closet and would like to return them, please return them Monday–Friday between 2- 3 p.m.
