Yoga Tree Studio brings trainer to teach national Yoga Calm program

Yoga Tree Studio in Superior is hosting Kathy Flaminio, MSW, RYT, and certified Yoga Calm™ instructor Feb. 11 and 12.
Flaminio will be training teachers, social workers, yoga instructors, and those interested in learning about the benefits of integrating yoga into the classroom and learning environments.
According to the creators of the program, Yoga Calm™ is an innovative child education method that reduces stress and then engages both body and mind for optimum learning. It helps children develop emotional intelligence, communication skills, trust and empathy. It nurtures teamwork and leadership. It prepares students to learn.
Flaminio has 17 years experience as a social worker in the Minneapolis Public Schools in regular and special education settings. She is also the founder of 1000 Petals LLC, a total wellness company that trains educators on how to integrate yoga-based activities, mindfulness techniques and social/emotional skills into classroom and therapeutic settings. She holds a master’s degree in social work and is American Council on Exercise, Yoga Alliance and Yoga Calm ™certified.
