Evergreen boys come up short at Frederic

The Northwood boys basketball team fell to Frederic 48-44 Tuesday in a Central Lakeland Conference game. The Evergreen boys are now 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

For the first two quarters, the teams were evenly matched. At halftime, Northwood trailed 19-18, but the Evergreens struggled in the third quarter and soon found themselves down by more than 10 points.

Despite their third-quarter troubles, the Evergreens managed a comeback with 23-points in the fourth quarter and had multiple chances to tie the game. One of those chances came with just nine seconds left to play, but Northwood wasn’t able to even the score and sent Frederic to the foul line to end the game with a 48-44 loss.

Brad Ross led the Evergreens with 14 points. Brian Albano had eight, Keanan Franco added seven and Nick Murray and Gage Harwick finished with six points each.

Northwood is at Prairie Farm Friday then host New Auburn on Tuesday.
