Spartan girls blanked at Hayward

The Hayward Hurricanes defeated the Superior High School girls hockey team 8-0 Tuesday night in Hayward.

Kelly Ahlgren and Merideth Ingbretson each scored three goals and Alyssa Ahlgren scored twice for the Hurricanes, who also got seven saves from Sarah Miley and two from Denise Kannegiesser.

Makayla Pitt and Kaeli Steltz combined to stop 33 shots for the Spartans, who host Cumberland at 8 p.m. Friday.
