TURTLE LAKE, Wis. (AP) — A western Wisconsin man and his wife are hospitalized after authorities say the man shot his wife following a carjacking.
Barron County sheriff's authorities say the 43-year-old Turtle Lake man was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree intentional homicide
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the 46-year-old woman remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
A 19-year-old man first called authorities Thursday to report that the man had carjacked him and then fired a shot at him as he ran away. He was not hit.
As deputies responded to that call, the man's wife reported he had just shot her at their home and then fled.
The suspect was found in a car crashed in a ditch in Polk County. He surrendered to authorities.
