Patrick J. Pfahl has been named vice president/financial advisor of Blue Water Capital Advisors, LLC.
“Patrick’s expertise as an advisor is not only broad, but deep,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin M. Wilson. “He’s a great addition to our team as we look to grow our assets and serve more clients over time.”
Before joining Blue Water earlier this year, Pfahl was self-employed, providing investment and financial consulting to clients on personal wealth and real estate development. He managed select individual portfolios and worked on diverse projects ranging from raw land to commercial real estate development and a large-scale wind energy project.
Pfahl also served as senior financial advisor-registered representative for VALIC in Tampa, Fla., and Austin, Tex., where he managed retirement plans with assets of $90-plus million and provided employee investment services and financial planning advice. In that capacity, he earned multiple company performance awards. He also has extensive expertise in executive retirement benefit programs and investment planning.
Prior to his position at VALIC, Pfahl was a financial advisor-registered representative for IDS/American Express (now Ameriprise). He also served as an accountant and systems analyst for Harvest States Cooperative (now CHS, Inc.).
Pfahl is a Certified Financial Planner program graduate of the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colo. He earned a master’s of business administration degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., and a bachelor’s degree in business management from the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth.
