SHS volleyball season comes to end

The Superior High School volleyball team wrapped its season with a 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 26-24, 26-24) loss at Hudson Thursday in the opening round of the WIAA tournament.

The Spartans were led by Becky Anderson, seven kills and four blocks; Jessica Lindstrom, 10 kills and six blocks; Danielle Magdzas, seven ace serves and nine set assists; Ally Keute, 14 digs; Marisa Miner, 15 set assists; and Amanda Larson, 11 digs.

“It was a battle,” SHS coach Lori Keute said. “We were down 19-7 in the fourth game and the girls battled back. They were amazing and played some of the best volleyball I’ve seen them play.”

The Spartans wrapped up their regular season with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-22) win Tuesday night at Central.

The Spartans were led by Miner, 22 set assists, seven digs and two ace serves; Lindstrom, nine kills, four blocks and two ace serves; and Larson, six kills and 10 digs.
