NEENAH, Wis. (AP) — Neenah police have recovered the body of a man from a car that plunged into Lake Winnebago in northeastern Wisconsin.
Officers on Friday recovered the body of a 34-year-old man who had recently moved to Neenah. His name was not immediately released.
Police also found a child's car seat in the vehicle. That prompted a dive teach to search for any other victims, but no one else was found.
Police say the car apparently was traveling down a boulevard when it struck a berm and went airborne into the lake. The car was found upright in the water, with the windows rolled up and windshield intact in about four feet of water.
Earlier this week, a car being chased by police went off the same road and into the lake. The passenger swam ashore while the driver swam away and escaped but was later arrested.
