Homecoming parade takes new route

Superior High School’s Homecoming Parade will travel a new, shorter route this year.

Superior High School’s Homecoming Parade will travel a new, shorter route this year. The floats and marching band will assemble at the corner of North 28th Street and Catlin Avenue Friday. Beginning at 1:30 p.m., the parade will head north on Catlin to Belknap Street, turn east, travel one block and turn south on Mortorelli Drive, ending at Ole Haugsrud football field.

The route change was made out of respect for former Assistant Police Chief Scott Campbell, according to Sgt. Mark McGillis of the Superior Police Department. A law enforcement funeral for Campbell, who died Saturday, will be held at Cathedral of Christ the King the same day as the parade.
