The Republican Party of Wisconsin is filing formal complaints with the state’s Government Accountability Board and the Milwaukee County Ethics Board.
The GOP is requesting an investigation into Milwaukee County Supervisor John Weishan and Service Employees Union official John-David Morgan, claiming the two men may have illegally coordinated campaign activities with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Barrett.
Earlier this week, Milwaukee Mayor Barrett denied any coordination between his campaign and outside groups. Barrett also criticized the campaign of Republican governor candidate Scott Walker for allowing a staffer to secretly record a conversation with SEIU official John-David Morgan and lie about the staffer’s name.
