Missing boys from Hudson are found

HUDSON, Wis. (AP) — Two young boys from Hudson were found safe in a Stillwater, Minn., motel Thursday afternoon, hours after a statewide Amber Alert was issued for them.

Hudson police Lt. Paul Larson tells KSTP-TV the boys' father had them legally Wednesday night but he didn't return them to their mother Thursday morning.

Instead, police say he went to her home alone. They fought and eventually he fled on foot, prompting a manhunt for him and search for the missing boys.

An Amber Alert was issued to the Wisconsin media early Thursday afternoon, but there was a delay transmitting the information to Minnesota media.

Nonetheless, the man was arrested in Hastings, Minn., and the boys were found safe in the motel.

The father remains in the Dakota County Jail.
