Army Reserve IDs soldier found dead at Wisconsin base
MADISON (AP) — Officials have identified an Army reservist who died at Fort McCoy.
Nineteen-year-old Pfc. Aaron H. Clawson of Waterloo was found dead on the sprawling western Wisconsin base on Sunday afternoon. Clawson was an ammunition specialist with the Madison-based 826th Ordnance Company and was at the fort for weekend training.
Army Reserve spokeswoman Maj. Jenny Lynn Griffin declined to offer any details about the circumstances of Clawson's death, saying only he didn't die in a training accident. She says the matter is still under investigation.
Officials at Fort McCoy didn't immediately return a message early Thursday morning.
