35 gang members arrested in eastern Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Law enforcement in eastern Wisconsin has arrested 35 violent gang members.

United States Marshal Kevin Carr spearheaded the effort in his eastern Wisconsin district. Marshals spokesman Douglas Bachert said Wednesday the arrests in the last two weeks were part of an effort to find gang members with outstanding warrants.

The suspects had a variety of warrants and were arrested by police in Milwaukee, Kenosha, Green Bay, Waukesha, Sheboygan and Appleton as well as sheriff's departments in Milwaukee, Brown, Waukesha and Outagamie counties.

Among those arrested were a Latin Kings gang member who was wanted for distribution of cocaine and an alleged Black Gangster Disciple gang member wanted for probation violation.

The FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Corrections also helped.
