Woman shot, man found dead in couple's house

BERLIN, Wis. (AP) — Tactical officers found a man's body in a house in Green Lake County hours after a woman was shot and wounded at the residence.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the house in Berlin (BER'-lin) shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday after getting reports of gunshots fired in the area. A 50-year-old woman had suffered a gunshot wound, was taken by ambulance to Berlin Hospital, then transported by air to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. WLUK-TV reports the woman is in good condition.

SWAT team officers entered the house about three hours later after trying to contact the man and found him dead. Neighbors say the man and woman had recently moved into the home.
