A rose petal ceremony takes place at 5:15 p.m. to honor all breast cancer survivors and those who lost their battle with breast cancer.
The team parade starts at 5:30 p.m.
The opening ceremony kicks off at 6 p.m. with a welcome, singing of the national anthem, the waking of the dragon ceremony and time to pass the paddle.
Musician Brandon Scott Sellner takes the main stage from 6:30-8:30 p.m. followed by the Lamont Cranston Blues band from 9 p.m. to midnight.
There will be a fireworks display at dusk.
Saturday
The Superior Optimist Pancake Breakfast takes place from 7-11 a.m.
Races begin at 8 a.m.
Kiwanis Club youth activities begin at 10 a.m. and magician David James entertains audiences from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The singing group “All About Music” performs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. followed by dancing and twirling by Sterling Silver Studio from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Superior Singers take the stage from 1-2 p.m. followed by rock band Crescent Moon from 2-3:30 p.m. and the reggae band Uprising from 3:30-5 p.m.
The Dragon Boat finals will be held at 5:15 p.m. an awards ceremony at 6 p.m.
Two Many Banjos will perform from 7-11 p.m. at Barkers Island Inn.
