MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A teen has pleaded not guilty to charges that he stomped another teen to death in Fitchburg for the victim's Air Jordan sneakers and cell phone.
Seventeen-year-old Ke'Andre Frazier is charged as an adult with first-degree intentional homicide. WISC-TV says he entered his plea Thursday.
A message left with Frazier's attorney Friday morning wasn't immediately returned.
The body of 16-year-old Lorenzo McKittrick was found behind a shopping center in June.
The criminal complaint says Frazier and McKittrick got in a fight after Frazier borrowed the victim's cell phone and refused to return it.
The complaint says Frazier repeatedly stomped on the victim's head.
Prosecutors say Frazier was arrested after police noticed he was wearing red-and-black sneakers that were two sizes too big.
