WHITEHALL, Wis. (AP) — Authorities in west-central Wisconsin say a car collided with a horse-drawn buggy, killing one of its occupants and severely injuring the other.
Trempealeau County deputies say the crash happened Thursday about 7 p.m. near the city of Whitehall.
The sheriff's department says the car slammed into the back of the buggy. The buggy rider who was killed was declared dead at the scene. The other rider was airlifted to the hospital.
There were two people in the car. The passenger was taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Authorities haven't released any names.
