Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College recently named Kate Siegler as its new academic dean for allied health. Siegler will serve from WITC’s Ashland campus, but she will have responsibilities throughout the district.
“We are very excited to have Kate join the Allied Health division at WITC,” said Mary Ann Pebler, divisional dean of allied health at WITC. “Kate taught in our Associated Degree-Nursing program several years ago as a part-time instructor, so she is familiar with WITC.”
“I am very excited about my new job as academic dean,” Siegler said. “I am thrilled to be back at WITC working with faculty and staff I knew from my time as an associated degree-nursing instructor and meeting new ones. The work that I will be doing starting WITC’s new dental assistant program is very exciting and will be very beneficial to this area.”
Being located in Ashland will allow Siegler to continue her work as director of the Bay Area Health Education Coalition, which holds four workshops a year on health topics for community members. She will also continue to serve on Memorial Medical Center’s Ethics Committee and on the board of Northwest AHEC, which promotes access to healthcare through education.
“Kate’s background as both an instructor and nursing program developer and then manager will be invaluable to us as we continue to expand the Allied Health division,” Pebler said. “Kate’s largest responsibility this academic year is to do all that is entailed to open the dental assistant program on the Rice Lake campus in fall 2011. It’s a big assignment, but I know based on her experience and dedication to organization and detail, she will do a great job.”
