EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) — Fire and rescue workers searched the Chippewa River again Wednesday for a missing man whose van was found parked at a boat landing.
Eau Claire police say the unoccupied van was found about 10 p.m. Tuesday night. Authorities say slippers and socks were found at the river bank where a dog, believed to be with the man, sat waiting with a stick in its mouth.
Fire battalion chief Duane Grunst says a search Tuesday night ended before midnight because of lightning.
