(POTOSI) Flash flooding has caused upwards of $1 million of damage in Grant County.

Lori Getter of Wisconsin Emergency Management says that assessors worked over the weekend to survey the damage caused by Mother Nature Thursday and Friday night. Torrential rains caused flooding to several communities, with some homes being flooded.

“We're gathering those damage assessments and will be talking to FEMA about potentially having them come out,” Getter says. “It's kind of the first step in potentially applying for federal assistance.”

Some residents of Potosi were evacuated early Saturday. Some roads and bridges in rural areas of the county were heavily damaged or washed away.
