Superior man in custody after attempted shooting
Investigation continues into shooting; no injuries reported.
At approximately 7 p.m. this evening officers from the Superior Police Department responded to 2418 Banks Ave., on a call of shots fired.
Details surrounding the incident are still being investigated, however at this time the following is known:
A 24-year-old Superior man allegedly fired a shotgun one or more times at a 27-year-old Superior man from close range. The two men are roommates at the Banks Avenue residence, along with a third adult who was not present at the time. The 27-year-old intended victim was not wounded during the shooting.
The 24-year-old suspect was taken into custody, and the weapon has been secured by officers. The suspect is being lodged in the Douglas County Jail on the following felony charges of domestic abuse attempted/1st degree intentional homicide, recklessly endangering safety and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon-use of a firearm while intoxicated.
It is expected that the suspect will make an initial appearance in Douglas County Circuit Court tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
As this investigation is still in its early stages and ongoing at this time, no further information will be released tonight.
