Honors

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored a number of local undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages including Alicia B. Felker of Poplar, highest honors; Gretchen A. Grube of Poplar, Kyle Standen of South Range and Breanna J. Minor of Superior, high honors; and Rebecca J. Sutherland of Hawthorne and Christine M. Hensrud of Lake Nebagamon, honors.

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus announced its 2010 spring semester dean’s list. Local students included on the list are Branden S. Largent of South Range and Natasha M. Mehlum of Superior.

The UW-River Falls spring semester dean’s list honors 1,338 students according to Registrar Daniel Vande Yacht. Becca Bridget Schorr of Superior is among the honorees.

Graduates

Students completing their degrees were invited to participate in the May 15 commencement at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Degrees were awarded by Chancellor Julius E. Erlenbach to Robert Tatinger, Brule; Kevin Dalpiaz, Foxboro; Brad Corry, Lake Nebagamon; Gavin Saari, Maple; Andrew Amys, William Moon and Adam Stauty, Poplar; Cassandra Grubbe, Alexander Pollock, Lori Quam and Aaron Stewart, Solon Springs; and Andrew Bach, Elizabeth Dalzen, Derek Gallagher, Nancy Rahn and Kady Wermter, South Range. Superior residents who graduated include Kevin Anderson, Ardelle Bayiha, Nolla-Jean Bayly, Alphonse Chesky, Ryan Clark, James Conner, Sean Cummings, Jason Davis, Tammy Davis, Amber Dennis, Kayleen Dolan, Jena Engelking, Jory Fleischauer, Haley Forslund, Randal Gordon, Jillian Holm, Thomas Johnson, Nina Kangas, Lisa Keene, Richard Kremer, Kristen Lehman, Angie Michalski, Katherine Minor, Katie Nummi, Erin O’Connor, Grady O’Neill, April Oles, Alissa Olson, John Pattee, Bryan Rantala, Andrew Raunio, Joseph Scaffidi, Kimberley Schmeichel, Joshua Seifert, Hally Sharrow, Tanya Stevens, Elisa Stoiss-Baker and Elena Ward. Students earning master’s degrees include Joan Beck of Maple, Holly Holmstrom of Solon Springs, and Kalyn Bonnelly, Bryan Denninger, Taylor Kiefer, Debra Noskoviak, Sarah Peterson and Thomas Strewler of Superior.

A number of local students received degrees during the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s spring commencement ceremonies May 14-16. They include Kevin Jameson Koehler of Lake Nebagamon; Colleene Patricia Thomas of Poplar; and Superior residents Bryan Ronald Becklund, William J. Maki, Jesse Stuart Nelson and Sean Philip Seyler.
