MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A second young person has died in a high speed crash in Minneapolis early Tuesday.
Police say the 17-year-old driver of a car that sheared a streetlight pole and crashed on the city's northeast side has died from his injuries at Hennepin County Medical Center. A front seat passenger, who police believe is also a juvenile, was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.
Three other males in the back seat, ages 13, 16 and 17, were injured and are being treated at HCMC.
Investigators say that besides speed, alcohol may also be a factor in the crash.
