Superior girls fare well at state softball tournament
The Superior 10U softball team wrapped up round-robin play with a 2-1 record Friday at the Wisconsin State Tournament at Wausau West High School.
The 10U girls defeated Menomonee, Mich., and D.C. Everest before losing to Wisconsin Rapids. The local girls now advance to bracket play, which begins Saturday.
In other state tournament action on Friday, the 12U girls went 0-1 and the 16U girls were 1-0. The first game for the 14U team was at 8 p.m. Friday.
The tournaments run through the championship games Sunday afternoon.
State champions will advance to the regional tournament in two weeks in Kentucky
