Draft plan for Lake Superior reserve gets public hearing

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and UW-Extension release the Draft Environmental Impact Statement and Draft Management Plan for the proposed federal designation of the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and University of Wisconsin-Extension released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement and Draft Management Plan for the proposed federal designation of the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Copies of the draft statement and plan are available at www.nerrs.noaa.gov and upon request to the NOAA Estuarine Reserves Division.

Public review of the document is an important part of the process and comments made at the public meeting and in writing will inform development of the Final Environmental Impact Statement. NOAA Estuarine Reserves Division holds a public hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Yellowjacket Union, Great Room, 1605 Catlin Ave.
