Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College are visiting Frankfurt, Germany, through June 9 in reciprocation for the students who visited WITC from Germany last fall.
Three students from the New Richmond campus include Nathan Spike, Loren Goldstein and Claudia Berggren. And three students from WITC-Ashland are Shauna Ruud, Kerri Bergquist and Christina Oksiuta. Accompanying the students are Lenore Knock, dean of students, and instructor Julie Schaefer from WITC-New Richmond.
The WITC students are holding various fundraisers to help offset the cost of the two-week trip. Earlier the New Richmond campus held a “whipped cream pie in the face” contest that produced more than $800 in donations.
Living accommodations for the six students traveling to Frankfurt are with the students and instructors who visited WITC last fall.
“After showing our German guests around last fall, our students are eager to find out what it’s like to be a college student in their country,” says Knock. “Now they’re busy filling out the requisite paperwork for passports, insurance and emergency information.”
