JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) — A 72-year-old Janesville man is dead after a head-on collision between two vehicles in Janesville Township.
The Rock County Sheriff's office says Calvin R. Janisch was driving west on U.S. Highway 14 just after 11:30 Saturday night when it was struck by an eastbound car driven by 34-year-old Aaron Janke of Beloit. Authorities say evidence indicates Janke's vehicle crossed the center line and struck Janisch.
Janisch was thrown from his truck and died of injuries at the scene. Janke and his 4-year-old son were extricated from their vehicle but their injuries were not life-threatening.
Authorities say speed and alcohol are not suspected as contributing factors but that the accident remains under investigation.
