MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Jim Doyle has until Thursday to act on about four dozen bills passed this year by the Legislature.

One of the bills he has yet to sign would allow for limited sales of raw milk in Wisconsin. Another would regulate the payday lending industry for the first time in the state.

If Doyle takes no action, the bills become law without his signature.

Doyle has been supportive of the payday lending bill, repeatedly saying he would sign it into law because there are no regulations now.

Doyle originally said he assumed he would also sign the raw milk bill, but last week he said he needed more time to study the issue.

The Legislature could come back later this month to consider veto overrides if necessary.
