A man suspected in a hit-and-run death in Bayfield County has been released from jail.

WASHBURN, Wis. (AP) — A man suspected in a hit-and-run death in Bayfield County has been released from jail.

Sheriff's deputies said Saturday the 42-year-old man, Charles Quick, was released after signing a $50,000 signature bond set Friday in Bayfield County Circuit Court.

The man was arrested Thursday night at his home in Gordon about an hour after 38-year-old Paul Rauwolf of Barnes was struck by a vehicle in a driveway in the Town of Barnes. Authorities say Rauwolf died while being taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Sheriff's officials say three men involved in a fight with the suspect just before Rauwolf was hit were also arrested Friday. Investigators say the motive for the fight is not clear.
