Boy Scout Troop 202, sponsored by United Presbyterian Church, presents the Eagle Scout award to Kevin Ostrowski, 18, at a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, 229 N. 28th St.
Kevin is the son of Dave and Laurie Ostrowski.
Kevin has been a member of Troop 202 for more than six years. During his scouting career, he has served as quartermaster and assistant senior patrol leader. Kevin earned the highest rank in Cub Scouting, the Arrow of Light, in 2003. To date, he has earned 36 merit badges, 21 of which are required to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
Kevin’s Eagle project, which took place in August 2008, consisted of building picnic tables for an outdoor classroom at the Superior Middle School. Many members of Troops 202, family, friends, and neighbors, spent more than 100 hours completing the project.
Kevin graduates from Superior High School in June and plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to pursue a degree from the College of Natural Resources. In high school, Kevin participated in pep band, Skills USA, and the Muenster German Exchange Program as a host and an exchange student who spent three weeks touring Germany.
