Kali Kelleher of Superior, a sophomore studying pre-engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, has been awarded a $1,500 Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium undergraduate scholarship.

Kali Kelleher of Superior, a sophomore studying pre-engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, has been awarded a $1,500 Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium undergraduate scholarship.

The Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium is part of a national network of universities and colleges working to expand opportunities for Americans to understand and participate in NASA’s aeronautics and space projects.

Kelleher will be honored at the 2010 Wisconsin Space Conference in August at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan. She also is invited to 21st annual Wisconsin Space Conference 2011 at UW-La Crosse.

Kelleher plans to attend engineering school and become an aerospace engineer.

“I am very thankful for this scholarship and know it will help me in pursuing an education in aerospace,” she said.

The 52 consortia fund fellowships and scholarships for students pursuing careers in science, mathematics, engineering and technology.
