WOODRUFF, Wis. (AP) — A suspected drunken driver accused of causing a crash that killed a sheriff's deputy is expected in Vilas County court later today.

Vilas County sheriff's officials say 29-year-old Kory Dahlvig was killed while responding to a call to assist Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators say Deputy Dahlvig's squad hit the back of a dump truck that had pulled out onto the highway. A 49-year-old Lac du Flambeau man was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk.

Dahlvig worked for Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police before joining the Vilas County Sheriff's Deparment about two years ago.
