Car rollover near Poplar

A one-vehicle rollover in the town of Lakeside Wednesday morning landed a car in the Poplar River and injured two people.

A one-vehicle rollover in the town of Lakeside Wednesday morning landed a car in the Poplar River and injured two people. The accident took place along Moonshine Road about half a mile east of the intersection with County Highway D. The rollover was called in at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Douglas County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Richard Schnell, who was on the scene, told media that the car struck the bridge guardrail before rolling down the steep embankment and settling right side up in the river. A witness who works for the town of Lakeside said both occupants of the vehicle were transported via Gold Cross ambulance.
