Suicidal man closes Blatnik Bridge

The Blatnik Bridge was closed for more than an hour and a half this morning as a distraught 37-year-old man contemplated jumping from the bridge

The Blatnik Bridge was closed for more than an hour and a half this morning as a distraught 37-year-old man contemplated jumping from the bridge, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The incident began around 2:47 a.m.

Troopers were able to convince the man to be brought to a local hospital for evaluation. Personal from the Minnesota State Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard, and the police and fire departments from Duluth and Superior were involved in the incident.
