Cops investigate Minnesota man in Wisconsin mall assault

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (AP) — Police are investigating whether a Minnesota man charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Wisconsin girl is responsible for similar crimes elsewhere.

Thirty-five-year-old Jamie Lee Sames of Shakopee, Minn. is in the Scott County Jail in Shakopee. He remained there Friday even though he was charged Wednesday in Wisconsin's Outagamie County with sexual assault of a child and child enticement.

Prosecutors say Sames told the girl he was a police officer, then fondled her under her clothes on the pretense of searching her.

Shakopee police say they're investigating him for possession of child pornography.

Wisconsin court records don't list an attorney for Sames.

The Post-Crescent of Appleton reports Sames was convicted of breaking Minnesota's "Peeping Tom" law in 2005.
