A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 35 and County Road B sent two people to Duluth hospitals Monday night.

A van heading southbound on Highway 35 T-boned a northbound car when it suddenly turned onto County Highway B without signaling, according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Department report. The car then crossed the parking lot of the Manitou Bar, striking a lighted sign and two newspaper vending machines before stopping in the front yard of a residence.

Both drivers were transported to Duluth hospitals by Gold Cross Ambulance.

The driver of the car, 25-year-old Jeremy Klobuchar of Superior, told officers that he had got off work, had a few beers, and was on his way home, the report stated. He was issued citations for causing injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, operating after revocation and failure to yield right of way while making a left turn.

Klobuchar was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, according to the report. He was not listed in the hospital’s patient directory Thursday.

The driver of the van, Tina Sullivan, 43, of Foxboro, was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital of Duluth, according to the report. She was not listed in the hospital’s patient directory Thursday. Sullivan was issued a citation for non-registration of a motor vehicle because her registration expired in January.
