National Women’s Ministries Day is observed at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at Hawthorne Assembly of God Church. The theme is “Thirsty? Come to Jesus!” Women of the church participate in worship and share opportunities for the ministry. The main message will be given by Shirley Petite who will be sharing her testimony. “Ignited Teens” girls take part as usherettes. The public is welcome.
Family fun night begins at 6 p.m. at the Hawthorne Assembly of God Church. There will be sledding, a bonfire, hot cocoa and food available. Everyone is invited to bring sled, friends and family. Fish fry every Friday evening of Lent at St. Anthony’s Church runs 4:30-7 p.m. The menu includes baked or deep fried fish, mashed or baked potatoes, hot vegetable, coleslaw, rolls, beverage and dessert. Takeouts available and free delivery to the homebound. Cost is $9 for adults; $5 for children younger than 12; preschoolers eat free. Handicap accessible.
An all-you-can-eat Mulligan Stew Dinner runs 4-7 p.m. Saturday at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N. 28th St. E. The dinner includes the stew, homemade breads, coleslaw, sweet, dill and beet pickles, delicious cakes, plenty of coffee, milk and juice. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-12. Children under age 5 eat free.
