Solon Springs: An adults-only class in traditional Okinawan-Japanese goju style karate runs 6-7 a.m. in the Solon Springs Community Center. Free. Wear loose workout clothing or a white karate uniform.

Superior: The Douglas County Association for HCE holds a quilt-a-thon to make quilts for kids in crisis 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mariner Mall, 69 N. 28th St. Bring quilting supplies if you can or just come and help tie quilts for the kids. Free.
Superior: The Kiwanis meets at noon at Portable Bore Repair. The speaker will be Kimberly Anderson and a tour of Portable Bore Repair and Jim’s Welding is planned.
Duluth: The Mental Health Support Group meets at Miller Dwan Medical Center, 502 E. Second St., meeting rooms 1-3, lobby level, eastside near the auditorium from 5-7 p.m. It is a free and confidential.
