Charles Harmon Pettit

Charles Harmon Pettit, 38, of Solon Springs passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at his home after a long 27-year courageous battle against Juvenile Diabetes.

Chuck was born March 25, 1971, in Shell Lake, Wis., to James and Barbara (Harmon) Pettit.

Chuck graduated from the St. Croix High School in 1989. He owned and operated C.M. Lawn Care Service of Solon Springs, Wis.

He enjoyed deer hunting with his family at the shack in Wascott, Wis. He shared his love of the outdoors with his nieces and nephews, and playing cards with his mom, dad, aunts, and uncles. Chuck enjoyed watching football games with his friends and family. He loved to talk and be around people. No matter what was going on his in life, he maintained a great sense of humor. Chuck was very proud of his ATV, it gave him the opportunity to go anywhere he wanted to go.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his parents; two brothers, Scott Pettit of Solon Springs; James II (Diane) Pettit of Duluth, Minn.; two sisters, Deborah Gengenbach of Solon Springs; Kathleen (James) Dahlberg of Solon Springs; two aunts, Glenny (Gary) Jones of Hibbing, Minn.; Mary Ann Pettit of Wascott; five uncles, Richard (Vicki) Harmon of Minong; Tom Harmon of Eau Claire; Ken Harmon of Spooner; Richard Thomas of Solon Springs; Richard Emmanuelson of Wascott; grandmother Evelyn Harmon of Spooner; and nine nieces and nephews.

Pall Bearers and Chris Hill, Dennis Elzinga, Paul Banks, Shane Nordness, Chris Lucht, Alan Walt, Luke Smith, Dave Baker, Justin Zeman.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 14 at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Solon Springs. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Pastor David Putz will officiate.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Solon Springs. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, http://diabetes.org/honor.
