DPW condemns Ross' car proposal as political ploy

MADISON - Looks like Superior Mayor Dave Ross wants to take taxpayers for a ride.

According to recent reports in the Superior Telegram, Ross is pushing a plan to pay himself $400 monthly in city funds for the use of his car, which should get plenty of mileage in his run for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor.

Ross currently is provided a car by the city. He's claiming the self-serving move will save taxpayers money.

"What it's really going to do is subsidize his partisan political campaign with thousands of dollars and that's a road taxpayers shouldn't have to travel," said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chairman Mike Tate.
