MILWAUKEE (AP) — Two men are dead after a driver of a stolen sports utility vehicle who was leading Milwaukee police on a chase ran a red light Friday.
The day before, a different motorist fleeing Milwaukee police killed a University of Wisconsin-Madison student on her way to see her family.
According to police and the coroner, a Chevrolet Suburban broadsided 23-year-old Don Hamilton early Friday.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Hamilton and a 21-year-old man died and two passengers were hospitalized. Two suspects are in custody.
Early Thursday, officers were pursuing a Mercury Mountaineer for a missing license plate but had just stopped when they saw it had run the red light. It struck a car driven by Donta Brown, who was critically injured. His passenger, 21-year-old Shanica Adkins, died.
The SUV driver was arrested.
