BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) — A 9-year-old boy has died in a snowboarding accident near Black River Falls.
Jackson County sheriff's officials say the boy was snowboarding Saturday afternoon on the property of his grandparents, who he was visiting for the holidays. According to preliminary reports, the boy slid onto a highway and was struck by a passing van.
The boy was flown to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, but did not survive. His name has not been released.
The 19-year-old van driver was questioned by authorities.
