Inter City Oil Company announced Thursday that it will match dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 for money raised at the silent auction for CASDA which will be held with its “Dance to End Abuse” on New Year’s Eve on Barker’s Island in Superior.
Judy Weber of Superior, ICO’s chief executive officer, said she is hoping area businesses, organizations and individuals who will be contacted in the next couple of days by community volunteers will give generously to this cause.
Organizers are working diligently during the holiday rush to raise awareness and funds for this advocacy group, which helps hundreds of women and children annually who are victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence.
“Whether it be a couple of dollars, a silent auction item for donation or a tax-deductible contribution or buying tickets to this event - we hope our community will embrace the Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse’s fundraiser because of its efforts, its importance and financial need,” Weber said.
Charles LaGesse, assistant chief of police and a CASDA board member said the center gives unconditional support to those in need and that it is a strong community resource, which provides many services.
“We are grateful to ICO and the other corporate sponsors ... as their generosity is critical to CASDA’s ability to deliver services to those who find themselves victimized by sexual or domestic abuse” LaGesse said.
Donations can be mailed or delivered to CASDA, 2231 Catlin Ave., third floor, Superior. Call (715) 392-3136.
