Hayward: Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board, Inc., meets at 10 a.m. at Mariachi’s Fiesta Restaurant.

Superior: A webinar on revitalizing Wisconsin downtowns runs noon to 1:30 p.m. at UW-Extension Office, Room 107 of the Douglas County Courthouse. Learn about “Tourism and Downtown Development.” For information, call 395-1363.

Duluth: Jeff Richter signs “Pure Superior: Lake Superior Photography” 2-3 p.m. at Northern Lights Books & Gifts, 307 Canal Park Drive.

Superior: The Superior Central All Class Committee meets at 5 p.m. at C’s Restaurant. All classmates welcome to attend to plan for the Centennial Reunion Aug. 3-4.

Duluth: The Mental Health Support Group meets 5-7 p.m. at Miller Dwan Medical Center, 502 East Second St. Meeting Rooms 1-3, lobby level, eastside near the auditorium.

Superior: The Superior Eagles Club, 1710 N. 12th St., hosts a meat raffle every Thursday night at 6 p.m. The club is open to the public. Proceeds support local and national charities.

Superior: An acapella women’s barbershop chorus shares their love of music with the community during a free performance 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Fairlawn Mansion.

Duluth: The public is invited to be part of The College of St. Scholastica’s 29th annual sing-along of Handel’s “Messiah” at 7:30 p.m. in the Mitchell Auditorium. Free. Audience members are encouraged to sing along while the Center for Early Music Orchestra provides accompaniment. Tenor Bill Bastian provides a solo. A limited supply of scores will be available at the door for guests to borrow or can be purchased at the door.

Superior: Wisconsin Public Radio plays its 2009 holiday programming on 91.3 FM with Welcome Christmas 8-9 p.m.

Superior: Kiwanis meets at noon at Aces on 29th.

Friday

Superior: Learn management tactics for fruit crop pests during the brown bag series for Master Gardeners hosted by UW-Extension. Call 395-1363.

Lake Nebagamon: The Senior Citizen Christmas Dinner and Bingo is set for noon at the Lake Nebagamon Auditorium. Those attending are asked to bring desserts. Sign up by calling (715) 374-3101. Anyone needing a ride should leave their name and address. No take-outs available.

Hawthorne: Senior Moments Christmas Party starts at 6:30 p.m. at Gerry and Shirley Petite’s home. All age 55-plus are invited to come and bring a friend. More information, call (715) 374-3444.

Superior: The Superior Singers perform a Christmas Concert at 6:30 p.m. at the Bong Veterans Heritage Center.
