Children’s programs

Community members are invited to a Children’s Christmas Program 10-11 a.m. Sunday at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N. 28th St. E. There will be cookies and coffee available after the service. Free.

Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 W. Superior St., Duluth, invites everyone to the children’s Sunday School program “Manger Mania” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Call (218) 722-1928.

Bible study

United Presbyterian Church invites all to a Bible study of Psalms 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Free.

Cookie Walks

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at the corner of Franklin and George streets in Iron River hosts its annual Cookie Walk and Lefse Sale 9 a.m. to noon in the church’s Fellowship Hall. An assortment of Christmas cookies will be available for shoppers to purchase by the pound. Rounds of freshly-made lefse will be sold by the package. Other items for sale include craft items, the church’s cookbook, Rada cutlery, greeting cards, napkins and “white elephant” items. The event is sponsored by the women’s association, WELCA.

St. Michael Altar & Rosary Society holds its annual Christmas Cookie Walk, Craft Sale and Raffle fundraiser 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the St. Michael Parish Hall, 68105 S. George St., in Iron River. Christmas cookies sold by the pound, and homemade donuts by the dozen. The craft sale includes new handmade items. There will be coffee, rolls and a soup and bread lunch. Bake sale

Zion Lutheran Church hosts a homemade bake sale beginning at 10 a.m. Dec. 12. Items for sale include cookies, breads, candies, crafts and quilts.

Christmas Music

The Pilgrim Choir presents Saint Saens’ Christmas Oratorio at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 2310 E. Fourth St., Duluth. The oratorio presents the Christmas story with soloists taking turns representing different characters and the chorus representing the multitude of angels singing to the glory of the Lord.

Duluth Gospel Tabernacle presents a night of Christmas music at 6 p.m. Dec. 20. The evening features Christmas music from the church orchestra, adult choir, Praise Kids and other musicians.
